Dinning room make over: phase 1

My Dinning room had blank walls that I was not inclined to paint, but I wanted color.  I got creative on how to add a splash of color without painting.

I found these wall decals at the dollar store.  I loved the sayings, but they didn't have any color.

I went to my favorite craft store (they're my favorite because they mail me coupons a couple times a month). All the canvases were marked 50% off.  The total cost for both of was $10. I had left over spray paint from some frames I color coordinated for the other dining room wall.

I painted each canvas and applied the decal. Voila, wall art and color for less than fifteen bucks.

These two canvases and the picture frames both coordinate with the bookcase I customized to add the real pop of color. I customized it by finding some fabric that I liked and used spray adhesive to attach it to that flimsy cardboard back that it comes with.

I decorated the bookshelf with a terrarium, silk orchids and hydrangeas.. The jar for the terrarium was a $2 find at the Goodwill half price first Saturday sale. I need to find some awesome scented candles for the candle holders (also a goodwill find). I won't burn the candles because I don't want to burn down the newly decorated dining room.

In the next phase I'll try to customize a dinning set.
