Everywhere

I never noticed it there before

It had to be there all along

Couldn’t have just appeared

Regardless, there it is

Breezing through the peace of my mind

Blowing, that winter wind

So hard it cuts my skin

The front has long since passed

Sun has melted a flurry of tears,

Thawed the ice around my heart

Even so the memory remains

Blowing away the piece of my mind

That allows me to put behind

The blizzard of

Lies

Mistrust

Contempt

Hate

Forsaken-love

Pain

Abandonment

Neglect

Betrayal

Conceit

Denial

If only the air were not everywhere

Wafting by to chill my sun drenched joy
